JAN COOK
I have been painting on and off since the early 60’s, winning competitions and exhibiting in various areas, therefore my artwork is hanging in many locations.
At thirteen I was offered an entry to the Melbourne Institute of Art, but as the fees were very high, we declined the offer, so I have been self taught.
Later with six children I did not have a lot of time to paint.
Now I can paint all day if I choose.
My work is quite varied including landscapes, portraits or wall murals depending on the request of a client. I work on many commission pieces, and I am happy to paint your pets, your children or a memory from one of your favourite photos. I prefer to sell my paintings already framed as the wrong frame can spoil the artwork.
Besides painting in oils I do pencil drawings. Many beautiful paintings have been achieved from photos that people have given me or that I take myself.
